PUMA THEORY

Characterised by distorted guitars and confessional lyricism, Puma Theory are an alternative rock band whose songs explore notions of anxiety, identity and anguish.

The band’s first three singles (Hit & Run, Sobering Lights and Foolish Boy) are the products of a long term collaboration with producer Ian Davenport (Gaz Coombes, Demob Happy, Band of Skulls) which came to be after Ian saw the band perform by chance in their hometown of Reading. The songs were recorded in the Oxfordshire countryside at Courtyard Studios – the remote location ruling out any chance of distraction and enabling a deep level of introspection.

The band’s latest offering – Hit & Run (Live at Farm Road Studios) – provides an insight into Puma Theory’s honest and visceral live performances. Engineered and mixed by Spencer Withey of Ladylike, the track is a precursor to a more expansive body of work the band are set to release in 2026.
