SHELF LIVES

“The extroverted electro-punk duo we need right now” – NME

Shelf Lives, made up of Canadian Sabrina Di Giulio and Northamptoner Jonny Hillyard, formed in the midst of the Covid pandemic and began self-releasing music in 2021 with their first single, ShelfLife.

Pairing hardcore punk’s brief blasts of energy with electroclash’s minimal and sleazy sonics, they raise themes of societal collapse and hyper-consumerism with a warped smile. The result taps into headspace that’s as rotten as it is dopamine-flooded, with pent-up frustration and pop hooks tossed together in a way that makes, in their own words, “the fucked-up seem fun.”

Support for the band has come quickly with the likes of NME, CLASH, Notion and The Independent all raving about them; Spotify, Apple, Amazon and Deezer adding them to editorial playlists and radio love from Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X, Sirius and Amazing Radio.
