Tiece and The Pieces formed in late 2021, when they all met to look at translating Tiece’s Neo-soul, Trip-Hop tracks into live music with a live band. This soon turned into writing new original music together and the group began performing live in early 2022.
Since meeting and working together, Tiece and The Pieces have played an array of venues and events such as: GloFest (Florence Park), Tap Social, The Oxford University Botanical Gardens & Arboretum 300th anniversary, Wildpaths Festival at Brixton Blues Kitchen and Sofar Sounds London. The group also supported The Brass Funkeys at The Bullingdon in November 2022.
Their sound is inspired by an eclectic collection from J Dilla to Esperanza Spalding. Imagine Melt Yourself Down meets Erykah Badu; The wild love child of James Brown and Lynsey De Paul. The haunting Trip-Hop of Portishead and Massive Attack, blended smoothly with the jazzy musicality of Robert Glasper and Amy Winehouse.
