Saloon Dion

“one of the most exciting up-and-comers around”. CLASH

Your new favourite Bristolian/Londoners, Saloon Dion have arrived.

Hailing from Bristol and London the band were born in 2021 from the still ‘hot to the touch’ kindling of a flaming pyre, built from a handful of Bristol’s most loved post-punk and surf rock outfits. They dropped a couple of singles to excellent acclaim on tastemakers labels Permanent Creeps and Nice Swan and will be self releasing their debut EP in May 2023 on their own label, Mucker Records.

Groove laden beats and bass riffs, often compared to the Happy Mondays, Beastie Boys and Gang of Four, the band have some how managed to birth an entirely new sound, which to coin a phrase is more like the love child of Devo and Parque Courts. Their first releases received support from NME, So Young, Dork, Clash, and Rough Trade as well as radio spins Lauren Laverne, Jack Saunders, Simone Butler and lots of love from Radio X and Amazing Radio.

Sweaty, thumping and exhilarating their live shows are not to be missed – this band can perform with a capitol P and perform they will – whether that’s to a packed out tent in a field or to – in their own words ‘if we were playing to front of 3 old blokes in a pub we’d be having a blast’.

The band have been supporting previous AYL guests Grandmas House on tour and were one of the first 26 British bands to be announced for SXSW 2023. Catch them in a little room whilst you still can.
