Mandrake Handshake

“Mandrake Handshake draw on the billowing hookah-induced ether of early Pink Floyd coupled with Hawkwind’s cosmic transcendentalism” – The Line Of Best Fit

London psychedelia collective Mandrake Handshake burst onto the scene with hypnotic introductory cut ‘Mandragora’ produced by Stereolab’s Andy Ramsay last Summer. Formed at Oxford University where they lived, hung out and rehearsed together on campus, the group were christened after a song by The Brian Jonestown Massacre, incorporating their influences of krautrock, funk, Japanese animation, and Latin pastoral poetry to create a unique brand of ‘Flowerkraut’ that vividly defines their sound.

Signed to Nice Swan Records (Pip Blom, Sports Team), the band has already drawn a slew of acclaim from key indie press champions in their short time together. Including NME, DIY, Clash, So Young Loud & Quiet.
