Cities in Dust – baggy beats and electronic, hypnotic soundscapes “like Death in Vegas meets Ride” apparently…Or ‘lysergic groove rock’, according to Nightshift Magazine. Other comparisons have included Gorillaz, Kasabian, Beck and The Charlatans.
And it’s a rich mix – of indie rock, punctuated by a wide range of genres. There’s hip-hop and electronica, punk, and psychedelia. Yet, it’s all still perfectly formed pop.
Playlisted on BBC Music Introducing, the band have played gigs on the same bill as Idles, Rozi Plain amongst many others, and supported Steve Mason, Dodgy and Jesus Jones on their tours. Their entertaining performances have been described as ‘ambitious art meets relentless rock’, ‘a refreshing, upbeat breath of excitement’ and ‘Sonically charged succour for the disenchanted’.
