Arborfield Military Wives choir was formed in May 2013, two years after the programme; ‘The Choir’ was aired. There are now 75 Military Wives Choirs across the UK and abroad. Primarily we are a support network and our aim is to support each other through singing. Arborfield is no different, the REME Garrison may have gone but forces housing still remain, so even more vital that we remain here as long as possible. The choir constantly changes and we currently have 17 members which all have links to the Armed Forces including wives, mothers and mother in laws, daughters, and veterans. We have had some amazing opportunities over the last few years including singing in London, New York & Guildford Cathedral as part of the MWC Cathedral tour. We have also sung with Lulu as part of her nationwide tour, have recently been selected to sing alongside other choir members on the Chris Evans radio show and some of our members have been a part of the hit musical Soldier on in London. We have been part of two MWC albums, Home for Christmas & the new album, Remember, which commemorates the end of WW1. We sing songs from across the genres and decades. We love our pop and are looking forward to revisiting our repertoire and learning new ones.
