COVID-19 Information

Be kind. Be respectful. Be part of the live music community and #TakeATest

We encourage you to support the return of live music by taking a Lateral Flow COVID-19 test in the 48 hours prior to attending our event, or indeed any gig. A small amount of your time supports everyone’s safety #TakeATest. Free tests are available at any local pharmacy.

With the return of live music at full capacity back in mid-July, the government approach moved towards ‘personal responsibility’ as the principle control measure for Covid. We appreciate that venues are taking many different approaches to keeping audiences safe, and we have tried to adopt a neutral, inclusive stance to support this.

Are You Listening? wishes to promote a strong community spirit, inclusiveness and being kind and responsible to one another. We know this fits with the nature of the audience we have been attracting to our event since its launch in 2013. In line with the Music Venue Trust’s position, we are promoting the message to our festival audience to Take A Test to protect those around them.

Do not attend the festival event on the day if you are suffering from COVID-19 symptoms:
• a new, continuous cough
• a high temperature
• a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell

Are You Listening? Festival is an indoor, multi-venue event. We recommend bringing a face mask with you, so that if you wish to wear it you can do so. Please be mindful of those around you and their needs.

Hand Sanitiser will be available with our volunteers at the entrance to all venues.

Please scan the NHS QR Track and Trace code at the Wristband Exchange.

Please be aware all performance spaces/venues are wristband only, except for those marked on the website and programme- namely Oakford Social Club and Rising Sun (where a one-off entry fee is suggested). In these venues you could come into contact with other members of the public.

Wristband Exchange

Our Wristband Exchange is at Sub 89, 110-117 Friar St, Reading RG1 1EP and is open from 12pm – 9pm.

All festival tickets must be purchased and all advanced ticket purchases must be exchanged here.

We strongly encourage you to collect your wristband with plenty of time before the first act you wish to see. Box office collection is open a full two hours before any band takes to the stage!

Venue Capacities

All venues are subject to their own capacity. Please arrive in good time prior to a band you want to see. Once venue capacity is reached, you will be required to wait until people leave, or alternatively head to another venue. Follow the festival Twitter handle for live updates.

Venue Age Restrictions

All venues are subject to their own age restrictions. These are clearly marked on the website and in the festival programme. Underage persons will not be permitted in Age 18+ venues.
